We are delighted that you have entrusted us with the physical and mental health of your beloved pet. Our goal is to make you and your pet’s veterinary experience as positive and stress-free as possible. To accomplish this, it is important that you provide us with your previous veterinarian’s name 24 hours prior to their visit so that we may obtain a copy of your pet’s records. Your pet’s medical history enables us to build a more comprehensive understanding of their overall health, which, in turn, helps us to create a more thorough health plan for your pet.
If you would prefer to bring your pet’s medical records to us rather than us calling your previous veterinarian, please drop off any medical records, x-rays or lab results that you may have 24 hours prior to your pet’s appointment. When planning your visit, please bring any medications your pet is taking with you to your appointment.
When you arrive, our staff will greet you and your pet in soft, soothing voices and guide you through your visit. Dr. Deavers sets aside at least 30 minutes for each appointment. We make sure to use slow and deliberate movements to minimize any anxiety your pet may have about vet visits. We allow many of our owners to remain in the room with their pets for many of the annual check-up procedures. We utilize positive reinforcement methods for handling and will encourage your pet to stay calm with treats and minimal restraint. If your pet proves to be too anxious, we will choose sedation so that we do not intensify their stress levels and perpetuate their fear of the veterinary office.
If you are unable to make your appointment, please call us at least 24 hours in advance at (757) 689-0246.
Thank you for entrusting us with your animal’s care!
