If an unwanted behavior is standing in the way developing a strong, mutually beneficial bond with your pet, we are here to help. With minor behavioral problems, clients are often able to correct the issue by means of reward-based training. However, when more serious problems arise, the behavior may be caused by an underlying health issue. Dr. Deavers and her team will work with you to help your pet overcome bad behavior—for good!
Common reasons for a behavioral consultion with Healing with Heart Veterinary Care include:
If you are concerned about an unwanted behavior, please call us for a behavior consultation. Please be prepared to discuss the history of your pet’s problem, including when it began, how long it has been occurring, and if you notice specific triggers cause or worsen the problem. Dr. Deavers will give your pet a comprehensive physical exam and may recommend additional testing to rule out underlying health conditions which may be causing the behavior. After the evaluation, we will recommend a plan of action to work on changing the unwanted behavior. We encourage positive based training methods.
I know Dr Deavers from her work at another veterinary office. I've had pets my whole life and I have never known a more dedicated, caring veterinarian! My sweet, beloved Cairn Terrier, Asta, was diabetic and Dr Deavers was his vet; she helped me keep him as healthy as possible, for as long as possible. I cannot even begin to express my gratitude to her for caring so much about my little fellow. Dr Deavers is an amazing person, a wonderful vet, and I am absolutely thrilled that she is going to be at this clinic!
